MISSION HILLS HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION - Roofing Approval Form
Pursuant to Article II Section I of the Declaration of Covenants, Restrictions and Easements for Mission Hills, the Board of Directors of the Mission Hills Homeowners Association (the “Association”), must provide written approval of any proposed roof replacement which will utilize hardboard, boned wood, imitation wooden shakes, or asphalt shingles. The text of Article II Section I is as follows:
No primary flat or mansard roof shall be permitted on any residential structure. All residential structures shall be roofed with wood cedar shakes or wood shingles. Hardboard, boned wood, imitation wooden shakes, or asphalt shingles may be approved with the written consent of the homeowner’s association board. For asphalt shingles, only the Tamko “Hertiage Premium” style, 50-year warranty shingles, or the equivalent, will be allowed.
Homeowners may use this form to submit the following information regarding their proposed hardboard, boned wood, imitation wooden shakes, or asphalt shingle selections to the Board for its review. If approved, a signed copy of this form will be returned to the Homeowner.

To assist the Homeowner’s selection process, examples of Board approved asphalt shingles, are the “Timberline Ultra HD" – Lifetime” style, “Weathered Wood” color, manufactured by GAF, and the “Heritage Premium” style, “Weathered Wood” color, manufactured by Tamko. As further guidance in the selection of replacement shingles, the Board’s primary consideration will be to maintain uniformity in the look of our neighborhood. Therefore, Homeowners are encouraged to select a shingle color (i.e. Weathered Wood) that closely matches the color and look of the existing wood shake shingles.
